It is amazing that you are here right now: trust that taking this first step to making your mental health a priority is an accomplishment! Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief and loss, you deserve the professional support to take the necessary steps to feel BETTER. “You alone are enough…you have nothing to prove to anybody” - Maya Angelou.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and have been working in the mental health field more than 20 years, receiving my Master’s degree from National University and Bachelor's in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Cal State University Monterey Bay.
Professionally, I have extensive experience working with diverse clientele including adolescents, at risk youth, young adults, Veterans, individuals and couples. I have supported Individual Educational Plans and SELPA programs, advocating for youth and families to obtain services within the educational system. I have provided therapy in juvenile halls, spent years working with community based non-profits, community health clinics and private practice. In recent years I have supported those dealing with and affected by COVID, figuring out how to cope during, and post-pandemic.
Clinical Specialities and methods include: Trauma, Grief and Loss, Anxiety and Depression, life stressors and changes, blended families, LGBTQAI+. I incorporate Fundamental, evidence-based practices including: FFT, CBT/TFCBT, in conjunction with strength based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, and individual coping skill development. I believe these methods allow for individual growth and incorporates clients’ personal beliefs, views and Faith.
On a personal note, I have lived in California my entire life, born and raised in Woodland, CA. While my husband and I have moved all over the state, we truly belong in Northern California. I am lucky to have three “Bonus Kids”- I am a Bonus Parent (not a step mom!) and have enjoyed being a part of their lives as they have grown into young men. I have a huge passion for travel visiting many countries including Europe and Israel, and I dream of my return to Paris! I thrive on concerts as music not only makes me smile, it feeds my soul. The best days are spent simply with my family and friends and ALWAYS with my beloved Dachshund; Eddie Vedder
